What was supposed to be one beer becomes one night of chaos, over indulgence and utter debauchery in this outrageous comedy. When straight-A student Jeff Chang's (Justin Chon) two best friends (Skylar Astin and Miles Teller) take him out for his 21st birthday on the night before an important medical school interview, what was supposed to be a quick beer becomes a night of humiliation, overindulgence, and utter debauchery. The night before his big medical school exam, a promising student celebrates his 21st birthday with his two best friends. 21 and Over didn’t really need the “From the Makers of The Hangover” tag. It’s sort of one big audio/visual “From the Makers of The Hangover” tag, but they spell it out in plain english anyway. Co-writer/directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore have jumped back into the booze-filled deep end with a movie that gets so drunk it pulls a Weekend at Bernie‘s. Keeping the plot light on its feet, the movie focuses on a smart kid (Justin Chon) celebrating his 21st birthday with his two best friends and a big medical exam looming on the horizon. Insanity ensues. 21 and Over is in theaters March 1st, and it’s only slightly surprising that they didn’t call it Killing Jeff Chang.
