Story Line:I can't really describe my anticipation for the English-language debut from Chan-wook Park, director of Thirst and the Lady Vengeance trilogy most popularly represented by its second installment, Oldboy. Though he isn't directing from his own screenplay -- those duties were left to Wentworth Miller, who was guided by the dark-hued hand of Erin Cressida Wilson -- Park has narrative and stylistic flourishes that are a custom fit for Nicole Kidman's art-house leanings. Meanwhile, Mia Wasikowska continues to out-Fanning her peers with a series of wonderfully offbeat moves.
After India's father dies, her Uncle Charlie, who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her unstable mother. She comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives and becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

The movie premiered at Sundance and the reviews were extremely positive with praise going to the performances of Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman. Writing in The Guardian, critic Jeremy Kay called the film "a gorgeously mounted family mystery dressed up as a gothic fairytale," and said the film presents viewers with clues worthy of Hitchcock: "Literary references and symbolism abound in Stoker. You can get tied up trying to figure out who is what. That is the idea. All the clues are there. You just have to look closely."The Guardian awarded Stoker four out of five stars in its review.
