 As a director, Jay Roach's brand of comedy has always skewed a bit too broad for my tastes, but as a producer he pushes buttons, having backed Borat and Brüno, as well as the underrated Charlie Bartlett. Let's hope he embraces his subversive side for this Ferrell vs. Galifianakis face off, and surrealist humor over strings of creative profanities and glorified mom jokes.
