Sleeping Beauty is a 2011 Australian erotic drama film written and directed by Julia Leigh. It is her debut as a director.[1] The film stars Emily Browning as a young university student who begins doing erotic freelance work in which she is required to sleep in bed alongside paying customers. The film is based in part on the novel The House of the Sleeping Beauties by Nobel laureate Yasunari Kawabata.
The film premiered in May at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival as the first Competition entry to be screened. It was the first Australian film In Competition at Cannes since Moulin Rouge (dir Baz Luhrmann 2001). Sleeping Beauty was released in Australia on June 23, 2011. It premiered in US cinemas on December 2, 2011 on limited release. Critical reaction to the film was largely mixed.
Emily Browning, the Australian actress best known for Hollywood efforts Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events and this year'sSucker Punch, hits the art house this week for something completely different: Sleeping Beauty, writer-director Julia Leigh's disturbing dive into the realm of somnambulistic sex work.
Browning stars as Lucy, a disaffected college student scraping by on odd jobs before happening upon a madam (Rachael Blake) who supplies young women for a group of high-class patrons. In the most extreme of their scenarios, Lucy is essentially anesthetized and placed nude in bed, resulting in a succession of outre encounters that have left viewers shocked, appalled, enthralled, breathless, fleeing the theater and/or any number of combinations of each. I sat down with Browning at the recent Hamptons International Film Festival for a freewheeling chat about about the film, her role, her routine, her festival experiences, and the odd conceptual link betweenSleeping Beauty and the much less admirably received Sucker Punch.

Story line :

Best Friends Sue (Melissa Johnston), Lexi (Lisa Younger) and Cheryl (Jeneta St. Clair) have a pact going to save their virginity until they find the right man and get married. As their 18th birthdays approach, the trio decide to throw a big party to celebrate. As they try to decide on what new experience they want to share for the big party, Cheryl announces that she has decided to give herself to her boyfriend fully. At first Lexi and Sue are shocked but eventually they decide that they should all lose their virginity on the day of the big party. As their mansion is rocking and the pool fills with topless girls the three discover that having sex may be more of a challenge than they originally anticipated.

Sue, Cheryl and Lexi are three college freshmen who have been best friends since they were born on the same day. They do something special every year for their birthday, but on their eighteenth, they set out to lose their virginity. They throw a large poolside party at Sue's house hoping to "pop their cherries" before the day and night is over. But they find that losing their virginity is easier said than done as all three of them embark on a series of raunchy and hilarious quests to do so.

Cheryl sets out to "make it" with her long-term boyfriend Jake. But after she catches him cheating on her with another girl, she embarks on a string of unsuccessful hook ups, one of which include trying to seduce the local blind kid Frank whose seeing-eye dog has an encounter with her instead. Next, Cheryl tries to make her boyfriend jealous by hooking up with a friendly college guy, named Eric, but he leaves when she is only trying to seduce him as "revenge sex" against her boyfriend.

Starring Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Dark Knight) and Viola Davis (The Help) in the leads, Won’t Back Down is promising to be a strong dramatic film this year, and I can’t help but think Fox will be pushing for an awards campaign for Gyllenhaal, Davis, or both for Best Actress come Oscar season.
The first trailer surfaced last month and got my spine a-tingling, and now the film’s official site has debuted the beautiful first poster, four new clips, and ten images from the film.
“Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis play two determined mothers, one a teacher, who will stop at nothing to transform their children’s failing inner city school. Facing a powerful and entrenched bureaucracy, they risk everything to make a difference in the education and future of their children.”
Holly Hunter, Oscar Isaac, Rosie Perez, and Ving Rhames co-star, with Daniel Barnz (Beastly) directing from a script he co-wrote with Brin Hill.
Won’t Back Down will be released in the US on 28th September, which could put in prime position for an awards campaign. As yet, still no word on when we can expect a UK release, but hopefully we’ll be getting it at the same time.

When a prank caller convinces a fast food restaurant manager to interrogate an innocent young employee, no-one is left unharmed. Based on true events.

The film "Compliance," which had its world premiere Saturday morning as part of Sundance's low-budget NEXT section, hinges on just such a question, wringing a tense moral drama from a simple phone call. On a busy day at a suburban fast-food outlet, a phone call comes for the manager (Ann Dowd) telling her there has been an accusation of theft against one of her employees. The voice on the line (Pat Healy) identifies himself as a police officer and instructs the manager to take a young female employee (Dreama Walker) into a back room. After a time the girl is undressed and doing jumping jacks, all at the command of the officer on the phone, before things take a turn from the humiliating to genuinely hurtful (Compliance). No one ever just hangs up.
The story is based on true events, which writer-director Craig Zobel read about in a newspaper. Zobel's previous feature, "Great World of Sound," premiered at Sundance in 2007, starring Healy as the reluctant employee of a fly-by-night record label, with Zobel shooting people who thought they were auditioning for a music deal. "Compliance" is in some ways the mirror-image of "Great World."
Inspired by a chilling true story, 'Compliance' explores just how far one might go to obey a figure of authority. On a particularly busy day at the local ChickWich, the fast food joint's high-strung manager Sandra (Ann Dowd) receives a phone call from a police officer saying her employee Becky (Dreama Walker) has stolen money from a customer. Convinced she's only doing what's right, Sandra commences the investigation, following step-by-step instructions from the officer at the other end of the line, no matter how invasive they become.( Compliance )
Which is not to say the movie do not have right to exits; a few fellow critics have noted that the film makes for an excellent and productive conversation- starter. But alas! the film itself keeps falling back into the most painful realities of the true-story complex. It reminds hulk of all the times in creative fiction classes a young student is being criticized for this or that and then will shout " but it really happened!!!

People Like Us (2012) HD Movie Free Download

story Line:

Family is one of the most important things in a person’s life. Alex Kurtzman demonstrates that fact in his directorial debut People Like Us. The film may not be particularly ground-breaking, but its sentimentality and sweet story is enough to warm moviegoer’s hearts across the nation(People Like Us).

Sam (Pine) has seen better days. Not only is he stuck in the middle of a horrible lawsuit but he’s massively in debt. To make things worse, his father just passed away. When he flies back home to Los Angeles he makes a startling discovery; he has a half-sister (Banks) who lives at the other end of town that he never knew about. Once he gets close to her and figures out who she is, Sam begins a path of self-discovery through the

most troubling and vulnerable point in his life( People Like Us).

As you may or may not know, People Like Us is loosely based off a similar experience from Kurtzman’s life. Since this tale is so near and dear to his heart, it took seven to eight years to bring it to life. It was well worth the wait. It’s easily one of the better movies him and Orci have written. They created elaborate characters we care about from beginning to end. More than anything, this is a sweet character piece and it shows. While settling his recently deceased father's estate, a salesman discovers he has a sister whom he never knew about, leading both siblings to re-examine their perceptions about family and life choices.

A.R. Rahman composed a soft, slightly subtle but still equally powerful score for People Like Us.

Story Line : Brit thriller ‘Storage 24’ follows a couple in the throes of a break up who meet at a storage facility in order to sort out their belongings. The nightmare begins when all power fails and they become trapped inside. Not knowing that London is in chaos with a dangerous predator on the loose, they become embroiled in a desperate bid for freedom that leaves them wondering if they will ever get out alive.

Storage 24 (2012) Free HD Movie download

Unfolding largely in a London storage warehouse, this drama channels a love triangle involving Noel Clarke, his estranged girlfriend and her new boyfriend into a second plot isolating several characters in a confined space with a killer. Early on, a loud, off-screen bump presages both a crashed aircraft (from which something nasty has escaped) and intermittent power outages (which lock up the premises' security system, trapping people inside). An impressive if unoriginal monster is upstaged by – spoiler alert! – a cuddly toy dog with fireworks attached. The whole thing proves unexpectedly entertaining.

Humiliation and embarrassment do not a horror movie make however, and at around the same time, something hits London hard. Initial reports suggest an earthquake or bomb, but it soon becomes clear that the threat is from another world, or more specifically, the alien contents of a military cargo plane that has crash-landed in the middle of town.

For convenience sake, the creature ends up in Storage 24, the crash sends the facility’s security system into lock-down, and the malevolent monster and our five miss-matched humans become trapped inside. Cue broken bones and spilled blood as the creature goes on the rampage and the humans fight to survive.

And that’s about it in terms of story, though while Storage 24 hardly re-invents the narrative wheel, it does have enough jumps, scares and laugh to make it a passable entry into the over-crowded sub-genre.

Story line:

The Five-Year Engagement is a 2012 romantic comedy film written, directed, and produced by Nicholas Stoller, starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt as a couple whose relationship becomes strained when their engagement is continually extended. The film was released in North America on April 27, 2012 and in the United Kingdom on June 22, 2012

The director and writer/star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall reteam for the irreverent comedy The Five-Year Engagement. Beginning where most romantic comedies end, the new film from director Nicholas Stoller, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek) looks at what happens when an engaged couple, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle.

The film follows Violet Barnes (Blunt), a smart psychology graduate student, and Tom Solomon (Segel), a sous chef at an upscale San Francisco restaurant.
Unlike most romantic comedies, this film starts with the couple getting engaged, but trouble ensues when Violet gets accepted into her dream program at University of Michigan. Tom is forced to move to Michigan and their wedding plans keep getting postponed.
Critics have given the film, co-written by Segel and produced by Judd Apatow, fairly mixed reviews. Here's what some of them had to say:
"I liked 'The Five-Year Engagement,' and then I didn't, and then I did - which seems just about right for a movie dedicated to examining how even the purest affections can be fatally derailed,"Washington Post critic Ann Hornday.
"'The Five-Year Engagement' becomes two things: an accurate reflection of a new generation of postponement-prone 30-somethings, and a rather uninteresting story," Newsday critic Rafer Guzman.
" 'The Five-Year Engagement' is far more relatable than your typical Apatow man-boy fable - Violet is much more than just a fantasy prop for the romantic Tom," says New York Post critic Lou Lumenick.
"But much of the humor, as well as the disappointment and anxiety that shadow the laughs, arises from thwarted attempts at kindness. The result -- not to spoil anything -- is a very nice movie," says New York Times critic A.O. Scott.
Tell us: Will you see "The Five-Year Engagement"?
One year after meeting, Tom proposes to his girlfriend, Violet, but unexpected events keep tripping them up as they look to walk down the aisle together.
